There’s a first time for everything

Hey everyone! I was messing around with my make up today and it happened to turn out perfectly for once. Maybe I will be this lucky every time! I don’t use make up brushes for their specific purpose for example, I could use a foundation brush to apply blush or for blending. I use whatever brush I think will work for what I want to do. I started by priming my face with the Stay Matte Primer by Rimmel.

I used the Fit Me foundation by Maybelline all  over my face and highlighted under my eyes, T zone and chin. Basically, anywhere where the light naturally hits my face.

I have finally found a contour that works for my skin *insert applause here*! This feels like a eureka moment. I couldn’t find a foundation or concealer that was dark enough so I gave in and went to MAC to see if I could find something. The make up artist was really friendly and she helped me find a dark eyeshadow called Embark to use as a contour. I love it because it doesn’t look too harsh  and when completely blended in it gives a natural warm look. The best way to find out where to put your contour is to suck your cheeks in and put it on your jawline. Also, I contoured my nose and my forehead to add dimension to my face.

Using a fluffy brush I went on to apply my blusher to the apple’s of my cheeks using Flushed by Sleek which is my favourite blush.

Since I do not have any primer I prepped my eyelids using the corrector and concealer palette by Sleek.  I just dabbed my finger into the middle pot and dabbed it onto my eyes making sure it was completely blended in.

To achieve my shimmery eye look I used 3 different colours from my Naked palette. I used ‘Tease’ as a base on my eyelids, ‘YDK’ in my tear ducts and ‘Snakebite’ on my eyelids. For the outer corners of my eyes, my crease and my lower lash line I used a dark matte brown from an eyeshadow palette by MUA.

I used a combination of liquid eyeliner and pen eyeliner to create my winged look. I love the slanted end of the eyeliner pen because it gives a sharper line which is what you want if you want to create the perfect winged eyeliner look.

I prepped my lips with a little bit of Carmex and then lined them with a dark purple lip liner by Barry M called 01B4 and then filled them in using a lipstick called Heroine by MAC.  I used lip seal first to help soften and moisturize my lips to avoid the cracky look when I put the lipstick on. I love MAC lipsticks because they are really pigmented and one application usually lasts for most of the day depending on what I am doing.

      1. It’s amazing! I seriously love it. I use the Rimmel Stay Matte powder over it with a matte finish primer and my foundation usually stays pretty matte and noncakey throughout the day!
